What GEP Offers Entrepreneurs

GEP offers financial and non-financial support to qualifying SMMEs and Co-operatives across all sectors in Gauteng.

We provide customised business solutions that assist entrepreneurs to run their businesses efficiently, which also includes facilitating CIPC registration, providing business advice and commissioning business development support interventions.

Assistance with the development of a business plan, project preparation, due diligence (handholding). We also provide post investment and aftercare services to the supported SMMEs.

Financial Support

The Gauteng Enterprise Propeller provides a unique and tailored financial support services that propel SMME's into the mainstream economy, revitalizes township economies and grows the key economic sectors.

Start-up Finance

The Start-up Finance Programme is dedicated to helping SMME's and co-operatives to secure the finances they need to jump-start their business ventures.

Contract Finance

This type of loan caters for entrepreneurs and SMMEs who have secured contracts from government departments, public entities and private sector companies.

Growth Finance

This programme assists viable existing businesses looking to expand their operations by securing additional capital.

Franchise Finance

GEP Franchise Finance Programme assists with funding to acquire a new or existing franchise, as well as the much-needed working capital.

Micro-finance

The Micro-finance Loan Programme offers co-operatives, micro, very small and small businesses access to much-needed finance. The programme is specifically geared towards start-ups and existing businesses that demonstrate growth potential and contribute to the broader economic objective of job creation and poverty eradication.

Non-Financial Support

GEP works with qualifying entrepreneurs over a period of time to prepare them for sustainability over the years. The handholding approach intends to create sustainable and productive SMME's that would add value to the Gross Domestic Product of Gauteng and to a greater extent, South Africa.

Requirements

Basic Requirements:
  • SA citizenship
  • Business must be located in Gauteng
  • The entrepreneur must be the owner and operator of the business
  • The business should have black majority ownership of at least 51%
Required Documents:
  • Business plan with five-year projections or management accounts
  • Previous three-years financial statement and current management accounts (for existing businesses)
  • Purchase/Sales/Lease/Franchise/Licensing/Agency or any other agreements
  • Any other information supporting your proposal
  • Company Registration Document
  • Purchase Order/Contract/Subcontract
  • Residential Address – Water and rates to be submitted
  • Marriage certificate and divorce decree, if applicable
  • Identity document
  • Details of members, if applicable
  • Additional info may be requested depending on the type of deal
